چکیده

Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is a myelodysplastic syndrome/myeloproliferative neoplasm (MDS/MPN) overlap syndrome characterized by peripheral blood monocytosis (absolute monocyte count/AMC ⩾ 1 × 10(9)/l, ⩾ 10% of the total white blood cell count) and an inherent risk for leukemic transformation. Monocytosis, however, is not pathognomic for CMML and can be associated with reactive and clonal processes, including MPN such as polycythemia Vera (PV) and primary

Characteristic repartition of monocyte subsets as a diagnostic signature of chronic myelomonocytic leukemia.

Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is a myelodysplastic syndrome/ myeloproliferative neoplasm whose diagnosis is currently based on the elevation of peripheral blood monocytes to >1 × 10(9)/L, measured for ≥3 months. Diagnosis can be ambiguous; for example, with prefibrotic myelofibrosis or reactive monocytosis. We set up a multiparameter flow cytometry assay to distinguish CD14(+)/CD16(-) ...

Flow cytometric analysis of monocytes as a tool for distinguishing chronic myelomonocytic leukemia from reactive monocytosis.

To determine whether immunophenotypic features of monocytes are useful in differentiating chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) from reactive monocytosis, multiparameter flow cytometry was used to immunophenotype 20 bone marrow samples from patients with CMML, 10 normal marrow samples, and 20 marrow samples with reactive monocytosis. Monocytes in CMML exhibited aberrant antigen expression in a...

Diagnosing myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms: laboratory testing strategies to exclude other disorders.

INTRODUCTION The 2008 World Health Organization classification of myeloid neoplasms includes the diagnostic category, myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms (MDS/MPN), which encompasses those rare clonal myeloid proliferations that at initial presentation, show overlapping myeloproliferative and myelodysplastic features, making classification as either a myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) or ...

Blood Spotlight JMML and RALD (Ras-associated autoimmune leukoproliferative disorder): common genetic etiology yet clinically distinct entities

Ras-associated autoimmune leukoproliferative disorder (RALD) is a nonmalignant clinical syndrome initially identified in a subset of putative autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome (ALPS) patients. Similar to patients with ALPS, RALD patients present with lymphadenopathy, massive splenomegaly, increasedcirculatingBcells, hypergammaglobulinemia, and autoimmunity. In contrast to ALPS, biomarkers ...

Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia according to FAB classification: analysis of 35 cases.

Thirty-five patients who fulfilled the FAB diagnosis criteria of chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML), i.e., myelodysplastic features, monocytosis over 10(9)/liter, bone marrow monocyte infiltration, blast cells less than 5% in the peripheral blood and less than 30% in the bone marrow, are analyzed. CMML appears as an entity distinct from myelodysplastic and myeloproliferative disorders. Sple...
